Frogs can live in or out of water. We often find them in damp places.
The female frog lays her eggs in spring. She lays her eggs in water. The eggs look like a mass of jelly. We call the eggs frog-spawn.
Tadpoles come out of the eggs. Tadpoles have long tails, but no legs.
The tadpoles grow their back legs first. Then they grow their front legs. Later on, the tails drop off and the tadpoles become frogs.
Frogs eat insects.
When the cold weather comes frogs hibernate at the bottom of the pond.
