1: MOUTH
This is
the mechanical part.
Digestion
starts as soon as you put your food into your mouth.

You use
teeth called incisors which are the front teeth, to bite or cut
into the food.

You
also have canine teeth, which are used for tearing food. |

You have
teeth called pre-molars and molars which are used for chewing
food.
They grind
the bits of food into a soft pulp which makes it easier to swallow.

Saliva,
a carbohydrate enzyme
is produced by your salivary glands. Saliva moistens your food
as it is chewed making it easier to swallow. It also digests
the starch in your food into glucose.
