HOW DOES THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM WORK?
The large veins carry the oxygenated blood to your heart. Your heart pumps the oxygenated blood round your body supplying all your cells with oxygen and food. Blood vessels are tubes that carry the blood to every cell in your body. When the blood has done its work it runs back into the heart via another set of tubes. |
Your blood now contains large amounts of carbon dioxide. This is a waste product and has to be excreted. |
The Circulatory System now carries the blood containing the carbon dioxide back to your lungs where it is excreted in the air you breathe out. |
